Led by a First Nations descendant and cultural ambassador, the tour provides insight into how aboriginal people have lived and managed the land, the forest and oceans for countless generations. A little more than one mile (two km) long, this walk is a great educational activity for families and history buffs.

7) Tulips of the Valley 2017: Started in 2006, Tulips of the Valley is the Lower Mainland’s original tulip festival and Western Canada’s largest. With 20 acres of beautiful fields, the attraction is definitely worth checking out (assuming you like flowers). On a sunny day, the fields are amazing.

8) Capilano Suspension Bridge: Overcome your vertigo and experience Vancouver the way the birds do. The Capilano Suspension Bridge is the oldest tourist attraction in the city (originally constructed in 1889), and the 450-foot-long, 230-foot-high bridge offers spectacular views of the Capilano River below. If a fear of heights has you second guessing a trip here, heed the advice of one recent visitor: "The height didn't bother me at all, my fears just disappeared."
